About Colleen Capel
Every leader reaches a point where what used to work stops working. The business is moving faster, expectations are higher, and the current operating model will only hold for so long. Leap Leadership Solutions exists for that pivotal moment.
We work with executives when people are watching, decisions carry weight, and performance has to hold. The work is direct, practical, and grounded in experience, but it’s also authentic. We don’t come in with jargon or a playbook. We sit with leadership teams, get clear on what’s happening, and help them move the organization forward without losing their footing.
“Effective leadership starts with clarity, accountability, and trust.”
About Colleen Capel
Colleen Capel is the founder of Leap Leadership Solutions, an advisory and coaching firm that helps organizations drive performance through people, structure, and execution discipline.
She’s spent more than two decades in HR, talent strategy, and organizational effectiveness, working with companies in financial services, fintech, professional services, and technology-driven environments. Her work spans from high-growth firms figuring out how to scale without breaking, to global organizations navigating change under intense scrutiny.
Colleen has held executive leadership roles in both growth-stage companies and Fortune 500 organizations, including JPMorgan Chase and Honeywell. She’s been part of executive teams during pivotal inflection points—from post-acquisition integrations to leadership transitions and enterprise-wide change—when the stakes are high and outcomes are visible.
Her approach is straightforward: tell the truth, cut the noise, and make leadership simpler to do. She’s known for getting to the real issue quickly, creating space for difficult conversations without judgment, and turning those conversations into movement.
Colleen’s philosophy is that leadership isn’t just about performance metrics; it’s about how people experience working under that leadership every day.
Outside of client work, Colleen serves as the Westchester/Connecticut Committee Chair for the Financial Women’s Association, an Executive Coach for the Financial Women’s Association Pacesetter Program, and is an active member of the Fairfield/Westchester Executive HR Roundtable and TroopHR. She believes that better leadership creates better outcomes—for people, teams, and the business.
Board-Level Perspective
“Colleen’s strength lies in her ability to assess complex leadership and organizational dynamics quickly and translate that insight into practical, relevant solutions aligned with our challenges. As we worked through succession and development planning, her analysis surfaced deeper governance considerations that led us to expand the work into board advisory. She brought clarity to key decisions, strengthened our leadership planning, and guided the development of our successor candidate with exceptional strategic insight.”
